推荐理由:

    和很多人一样，Ayukawa最早接触的欧亨利的小说，是中学时课本上的《警察与赞美诗》，在国内“政治正确”原则下所有评论无一例外地将这篇小说定义为“揭露资本主义社会下荒唐的社会制度和没落的道德观念的代表作”，遗憾的是Ayukawa没有如此深邃的观察力。令Ayukawa着迷的，是这样一件结构、剧情被设计得如此精巧的艺术品，如果要说深度的话，Ayukawa觉得能够表现出宿命论中的荒谬就足够了（或许偏巧稍微迎合了Ayukawa轻微的不可知论倾向？）。

    而后零零碎碎的，Ayukawa阅读了《砸箱洗手记》、《最后一片叶子》、《姑娘》等欧亨利的其他一些小说。欧亨利的小说如同他本人的经历一样，总是在出乎意料的结局下带着讽刺、嘲弄的感觉，但是却丝毫找不到酸溜溜的怨恨或是自怜。Ayukawa非常喜欢这种风格：生活不能总是符合逻辑，笑着发现一些荒唐，接受一些意外，不是一件很惬意的事吗？

    被冠以“世界三大短篇小说家”的欧亨利（浮云~浮云~）亦是多产作家，这儿收集了部分英文原著，会逐步放上。至于中文版，Ayukawa会尽可能收集，但是很多篇目的幽默之处是无法翻译的。
